Data & storage, in plain language

This site is an editorial journal about confectionery craft. It does not sell anything, does not build reader profiles and does not pass information to advertisers. Here is the very short list of what actually happens.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. This journal is a set of static pages. There is no account system, no newsletter form, no comment field and no checkout. We do not ask for a name, an address or a payment detail anywhere on the site.

Our host may record standard server information — the kind that every web server logs, such as a request time and the page requested — for the purpose of keeping the site online and diagnosing faults. That information is not used to recognise individual readers and is not combined with anything else.

Browser storage

The only thing this site stores on your device is a single preference flag. It remembers whether you have already answered the small consent notice at the top of the page, so the notice does not reappear on every visit.

  • What is stored: one short text value, either “yes” or “no”.
  • Where it is stored: your browser's local storage, on your own device.
  • How long it stays: until you clear your browser data, or until you remove it yourself.
  • Who can read it: only this site, in your browser. It is never transmitted to us.

No advertising cookies, no analytics scripts, no fingerprinting libraries and no third-party embeds are used on any page of this journal.

Interactive widgets

The flavour cabinet and the sugar-stage rail on the front page run entirely inside your browser. Selecting a jar or a stage simply redraws text and bars on the page. Nothing is sent anywhere, and no selection is remembered between visits.

Writing to us

If you send a note to the address published on our kitchen page, we receive whatever you choose to include in that message. We keep it only long enough to reply, and we do not add it to any list, database or mailing tool.

Your choices

Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to export or erase on your behalf. You remain in full control of the local preference flag described above: clearing site data in your browser settings removes it instantly, and the consent notice will simply appear again on your next visit.

If you would rather the site store nothing at all, choose “Not now” in the notice. The banner is removed from the page and no flag is written.

Changes to this note

If the way this journal handles data ever changes, this page will be revised and the date at the top of the page will move forward. Substantial changes will also be mentioned in the atelier's front-page notes.
